5 Centimeters Per Second

5 centimeters per second: A chain of stories about their distance

I never thought, one whole movie could actually be sad from start to end.

It shows how the protagonist hoped yet get nothing in the end. Although it is realistic in my opinion since once you move away, and live in different places it'll be really hard to stay together. Oh they weren't even together. They just share the same feeling. They didn't exchange I love you's or said something straightforwardly. They just kissed and that probably means more than a clear explanation.

Story
The story started when the male and female protagonists were still young, 13 that is. It is clearly a "first love" story. The girl move out of the place and yet they continued to keep their bonds through letter writing. Kind of gives you the idea that, "...hey, they probably would get back together".

However distance is really something. Presence is needed if you are just about to form foundations of one's love. I'm not sure though, what works and what doesn't. Haven't been there and the only thing I can do is imagine and assume and write about what I think.

What made me feel sad is the fact that it was kind of fast paced, and you see highlights of his life where he obviously felt longing and loneliness towards a person. He can't even see that someone loved him already since he is still attached to the girl. He wasn't good at moving on.

I want to alter the story and make a happy ending. A lot of things could have been done in between yet the author clearly wanted it to be a tragedy.

Art
The art is good. It reminds me of anime's that are subtle.I also liked their color palette and how pastels blended. It'll probably refreshing to watch it in HD, seeing lovely colors. Haha.

Recommend
Sure, anybody can watch this if they would like to see how the story goes. My post is rather a spoiler so you know what to expect. But see for yourself.
